Here we have the soundbox of the harp, repolished and ready to assemble on the column and neck, seen behind. The instrument is not held together with glue; fascinatingly, the tension of the strings holds the chump end of the neck onto the locating pins at the top of the box.
The top of the column with its Gothic decoration and the neck, where the strings will be attached.
The top of the column, with a host of harps behind it! If Heaven has attics, I am sure they will look much like this - with perhaps a few pairs of moth eaten wings thrown in!
